Parish Groups

As well as attending Sunday mass there are many groups you can volunteer some time with to bear witness to your faith and help strengthen our community in our variety of parish groups. Deacon David invited us to consider during August how we might get more involved with, help out with; some of the Parish groups/activities come the Autumn. Someone suggested that it would be helpful with this, to have a list of the Parish Groups to refer to.

When this website grows later in the year we hope to have more detailed information about the activities of all these groups. If you'd like to contribute further information to this please email john AT c3x.co.uk

Catholic Women's League.

Meets monthly at 10.00 am

Little Footprints.

This group for children age 0—5 and their parents and carers usually meets 1.15—2.45 pm on the first Wednesday of the month in the Parish Hall. Could get together more frequently if there were more people involved. Also has occasional days out to visit local attractions.

Explorers Youth Group.

Interesting and fun activities for those in years 4 to 8 at School. Meets on alternate Sunday evenings 6.15—7.45 pm in Parish Hall. New leaders needed.

Society of St Vincent de Paul.

Members visit the sick, lonely, disabled and disadvantaged in the parish. They also run the popular 60’s Club afternoon teas. Members meet alternate Thursday’s 7.30 pm in Parish Hall

The Church Choir.

Normally sings at the 9.30 am Mass on Sundays. Rehearsals from 7.30 pm Wednesday evenings. No audition necessary.

Children’s Liturgy on Sunday.

Flower arrangers.

Mother’s Prayer Group

Meets second Thursday of the month 9.00 am at St Louis School

Tuesday Women’s Prayer Group

Meets Tuesdays in church after 9.30 am Mass

Ministry of the Word.

In proclaiming the word of God from Sacred Scripture, readers exercise their responsibility in mediating the presence of Christ. God speaks to the assembly through them, and the impact of God’s message will depend significantly on their conviction, their preparation, and their delivery.

St Catharine's 60s Club.

A social club for senior members of the parish. Alternate Monday’s 3.00 pm in the Parish Hall
